Bruised Fruit are in the process of organising a series of 'entertainment evenings' to help promote new drink TUACA
They've been asked to co-ordinate the acts for 7 events which are taking place throughout Belfast in August/September.
They have a number of slots to be filled, and are wondering if any of us would like to get involved?
There is no money involved but a bit of free drink, bit of craic and a bit of publicity.
They have performance opportunities on the following dates:
28th August @ The Point, Belfast 5th September @ The King's Head 12th September @ The Cloth Ear
If anyone's interested they can contact Bruised Fruit directly for more info at jen@bruisedfruitpromotions.com

I may be reading in The Point on Thursday. Never performed in Belfast before, at least not poetry. Anyone coming down?

Ok, that was the weirdest gig I've ever performed. The crowd were harder than synthetic diamonds. My own stuff was met with a sort of incredulous indifference, so I lobbed in a passage from Finnegans Wake (usually a crowd-pleaser) which didn't go down well at all. Heigh ho. Finished off the night in the Duke Of York...first time drinking there, cool bar

Yeah the Duke is a groovy place. Never gigged the point. Is that out Ballyhack?

There's a great wee open mic night Make Yourself Heard down beside the duke most months. Keep an eye out for it in the gig section.

Cheers. Is that in the Black Box by any chance? We played there a few times...great venue. The Point came across as pretty much an honest-to-God local...most of the punters were 40+ I'd say. I don't know Belfast that well, but it was about a mile out the Newtownards Road.
