NEW CUBElfast
Black Box Cafe, 8pm, Thursday 18th March
Broadcast yourself to a live audience!
It’s slam jam, but not as we know it!
A new shape for slam! Are you a poet, spoken-worder, author, dramatist or comedian? Can you twist words until their corners buckle and surrender? If so, then this is the slam for you.
Each month at the Black Box café, verbal artists are invited to come together to present their live and original words to an eager audience. Each month will have a theme set by a member of the previous audience (but as this is the first month we are setting the theme: “Crisis, what crisis?!”)
You have up to three minutes to present your piece. Your creation should be your own original work and can be presented by as many people as you like (but the writer must be one of the performers). You will be gonged out and disqualified if you go over your time. Places will be limited to fifteen entries each month. Arrive early (from 6.30pm) to register. First come, first slammed.
